CNL program at University of Maryland

Published

Hello,

I am thinking about applying CNL program at University of Maryland for Spring 2010. My concerned is about my GPA which is low (including prereq = 3.3 ) I am wondering is there any chance that I will get in? is anyone that you know that get in with this low gpa?

How many applicant for each semester?

THank you,

Blondell

If it's any consolation, terps97, my application status is still at "Complete Ready for Review". I'm trying not to get concerned when I hear that everyone else is at "Committee Ready". Acck!! :)

Hello fellow CNL people. I am too waiting, very impatiently, to hear from MD. I got rejected from Georgetown's program, but was accepted to Marymount.

Maryland is now my #1 since I didn't get into Georgetown:(

Do you think we will hear before November 1-- like that email said? If so, I am going to just stop checking, it's driving me crazy!

Hi Beach It---I'm so sorry to hear about your disappointing news from Georgetown. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason (though that's probably small comfort right now!). We're happy to have you join us over here on the CNL applicant board as we all nervously await admissions decisions! Down the road, when we've passed the NCLEX and are working as RNs, all of this anxiety and torment will be a distant memory! :)

Thanks mother_matters! I agree with you, most things do happen for a reason. Have a great day!

Hello guys and congratulations to those of you who has been accepted into various programs. I too applied to the CNL program and the anticipation is driving me insane! If you guys don't mind and if it's NOT too personal, would you please tell me what your CGPA and Science GPAs are. I am just wondering if my CGPA of 3.4 and Science GPA of 3.5 is high enough. Anyone know what the cut off is? Any info would help and decrease my anxiety. Thanks

My GPA from previous degree( Hotel and tourism management ) 3.4. Science GPA 4.00 and 2 years of CNA experience. I hope to hear something soon.

My undergrad GPA is 3.49 (Education) and my Science GPA is ~3.8...not really sure....I will have to calculate it. I have 3 years teaching experience, and I worked in a Doctor's office part-time

Ok, thanks guys.. Yeah Im hoping to hear back soon also. Best of luck to all. Hopefully we can all be classmates. How long has your apps be in and has anyone called admissions to see when we may hear back from them? My app just became complete last week.

My undergrad (dietetics) from UMCP was 3.3 and my prereq gpa was 4.0. My application was in as of July and went to "Committee Ready" some time in early Sept. Good luck to all! This wait has been LOOOONGGG!!!:anbd:

Don't want to fuel the anxiety, but I'm wondering if anyone else is in my boat.....my CNL application still only says "Complete Ready for Review" (not Committee Ready like other applicants have indicated). The only way I can sleep at night is by telling myself that they're going in alphabetical order and haven't gotten to the end of the alphabet yet--does this seem plausible? Would love to hear that I'm not the only one who hasn't moved to the "Committee Ready" category yet.

Here's hoping we hear something before too long! I'm a little worried about how little time there is going to be to pull Veteran's benefits, Financial Aid, scholarships (if we haven't missed the deadlines), physicals, immunizations, etc together by January--and most of these things can't be done until we have confirmation. I'm grudgingly sending in my deposit to my second-choice school today. I suppose this is a very good lesson in patience and keeping my eye on the prize! :)

My thoughts are with all of you who are also on pins and needles!

Okay, I've stopped hyperventilating. My status moved to Committee Ready today. Hope everyone is finding some soothing distractions to help pass the time until we hear something. I think I'm going to take up knitting to calm my nerves. :)

I'm glad your status changed! Good luck!
