CNAs: When is the last time you were thanked/recognized?

Published

When is the last time you were thanked for doing a good job? Heck or even shown some appreciation?

What did you do to earn it?

Is hard work recognized at your facility?

That is an awesome feeling! I was told that too when I first started. Keep working hard and have a good attitude because people do appreciate that, even if you don't realize it.

We were told Friday by our administrator and DON. We are expecting state any minute and they've been super hard on us the last few weeks...well, months.

I just wish they'd show some appreciation in our paychecks!!

Hmm... I think my nurses appreciate me.. they don't want to do total care on all the patients. ROUGH night.. they all told my boss they love me. I said I got the whole floor fooled.. :)

Specializes in geriatrics, dementia, ortho.

I got the nicest voicemail from the owner of my homecare agency tonight, saying how much they appreciate my hard work and flexibility, and that I'm a great caregiver, and that I'll be getting a thank-you bonus in my next paycheck! I'm shocked and thrilled! :w00t:

I get thanked all the time by the nurses at my job. It's usually for doing something to make their job easier though. The patients are one of two things. Extra greatful and appreciative or "entitled" and ungreatful.

Just a few weeks ago there was a meeting with one of the directors, one of the counselors told to me that I recieved many praises from the nurses during that meeting. He said they voiced how the evenings are terrible when I am not there and they couldn't work without me! It made me feel so special!

:thankya::thankya:

There are a handful of nurses that consistently thank the techs, and these are the nurses we are always happy to go above and beyond for. It's so, so simple - what goes around comes around. :hug:

I get thanked every time I work by the nurses, OT, PT and the patients. It makes all the insanity of the job worthwhile.
