CNA to Unit Secretary?

Published

I just moved to Colorado from TX and was a CNA in tx and liked the place i worked at and got along great with my coworkers. Im now looking for a job here and got an offer for CNA/Unit Secretary. I don't know if i can do this job or not im usually the shy one and not very good with phone calls and tend to get nervous but than that happens when your new at something right? Could i get some answers from you guys as to how you guys liked your CNA/US job? is it fit for someone like me? Thanks!

The unit I use to work on was busy....like most. I would not want the job of the Unit Secretary. She wore many hats at the same time and was being pulled in ten different directions. Bless her.

I made the move and wouldnt go back to being a CNA although I did toy with the idea or doing the Clerk/PCT thing but I work on a Cardiac ICU floor. SO depending on which floor it is, you might be able to swing it!

But I love being a clerk! Maybe Im biased but I worked as a HHA for 1 year in home health and it was horrible. Been a clerk for 3 years now & Ive learned a lot from the ER nurses and ICU nurses ...

Id say shadow and see what its like because it can get incredibly tough to manage both duties at once.
