CNA in NJ

How much is the salary of a CNA who just finished training in New Jersey?

Specializes in retired LTC.

Makes all kinds of differences if you're talking North or South Jersey. Union or non-union. Shift differential.

Lots of variables so no one answer might work for you.

But around how much is the minimum pay?

Specializes in retired LTC.

I think you're missing my point. Minimum wage in NJ is $8.44, but is that what CNAs make in a unionized major hospital in Newark or a small non-union Catholic-run facility in Camden county. Or a private day care center near Trenton?

Staying competitive within a community is critical for many employers, but for some, their benefits package compensate (or NOT) for their offered wages.

I worked in in somerset county and the starting rate was 13.00 an hour w o benefits. However when I moved to philly southern Nj w my Nj cna and then my pa cna it was between 8-11$ an hour. Highest paying I got was 12.50 in philly.

I am from nj and started me out at 12.00 hr when benefits kicked in it was taken out of your hourly rate

depending what you chose I ended up making 10.00 a hour. worked full time and was union.

How long was your training? And are you planning to pursue nursing?

From my personal experience it has always been around $13/hr +/- $1.50.....
