Hello I in the process of opening a CNA program and am in need of help with a lesson plan. Can anyone help with this or have suggestions on where help can be found?

You would need to check with your state licensing agency, since they will be the ones testing your students for certification.
Thanks for the reply. I'm actually past that point.I need to develop a lesson plan. I'm looking for anyone on here that has a valid plan or can develop a plan for me.
Well the state would have your required patient care procedures outlined. I've taught in the past and we did 4 10hour days of classroom then 12 10 hour clinical days to get checked off on the resident care procedures. There were a total of 48 RCPs (resident care procedures) that our students had to master.
We started with basics and then divided what was left between the four classroom days in a nursing lab with manacins and hospital bed. Every procedure was covered by the time we got to clinical site. So they were familiar with them.
If you have checked with your state....can you not put a rough Draft together that includes your teaching points and exam requirements?
The state in which I live requires instructors to be certified to teach an accredited CNA class. Included in that certification is course syllabus and book along with detailed steps and rationale for each step.
LTCS are usually glad to have students and you can usually set up a room to use for testing when the state will send out an examiner. Good luck!

This isn't really patient education.. now is it?
The Allnurses that I've come to know and love....technically, inspires me to figure out things on my own. They suggest things that spur me into intellectual growth by not just handing over an entire assignment or a developing a complete lesson plan for my students but by giving me their experience, guidance and suggestions.
Best wishes for your CNA program.
