Student Nurse Associates in the DMC start at 15.95 plus shift differential.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to tell the couple gals I know who are over at the DMC. They just got bumped up to over 15 after their raise....Yikes. They should be making more (and we can all definitely use it-- especially as broke students!) Maybe they are working as CNAs then? I could have sworn they were SNAs though.... Hmm now I'm going to have to do some checking around to get to the bottom of this mystery:)

I work at a wonderful nursing home (initially as a LPN, but as of last week am a RN). I believe our CNA's start out at $15.00/hour. It's a really good place to work, as far as nursing homes go. Good luck:)

Most CNA jobs pay $10-$14/hour with $11-12 being the average. I work at a place that pays $12.50 for day shift and $13 for afternoon & midnight shifts and thats higher than most places. They pay their LPNs $23.50 for day shift and $26.50 for afternoon & midnights. It's long term care and Rehab but nothing like a nursing home atmosphere. Most hospitals don't hire LPNs so they are limited to nursing homes, ECF, and home health care but can make anywhere from $18-$30 to start which is better than what a hospital pays. RNs make much more in the long run but the starting pay isn't much more than an LPN.

That's really weird that they got raises since they said they didn't give them out this year! But actually all of us contingent workers, which SNAs are, just actually got a pay decrease! only like 4 cents an hour but still frustrating. Tell them to look at the job postings on the DMC intranet- the give salary ranges for every job. SNA postings simply state 15.95.

every one please understand CNA or PCT thats what I'm interested in,
NOT, Student nurse, NOT RN or NOT LPNs, simple and plan CNA or PCT
some people might or might not be able to cut it school or probably need to work now and don't want to go to school to be a RN or LPN

I would say a CNA would make between $9 and $12 depending on experience and what type facility hired into. You can go to payscale.com and it will tell you.
This is the standard range for CNAs. An occasional job at $18 an hour might be found here or there, but those are few and far between and are usually private duty care.
