Cna job offer with a week of..

Hi all, I came across to ask if having a week of orientation as a new hired with no cna experience at all.

do you guys know if this is correct and fair? As I have heard of having more than a week of orientation I feel I'm gonna need more time . I'm going to take evening shift . pRN any clue or advice thanks to all in advanced.

I only had a week of orientation/training when I became a newly employed CNA as well. In my experience, it was easy to pick up everything and just because orientation ends, it doesn't mean you stop learning. If you don't feel comfortable you should ask if your orientation can be lengthened.

I think you will be alright but, then again, it depends on how supportive your co-workers will be and how confident you will be in your skills.

You will learn as you go anyway, and much of it will be on the resident's preferences and learning about them...

My orientation was 2 weeks. Overall though, like others have said, the real learning starts when you are on your own. The first couple days by yourself can seem incredibly scary, but you'll adjust. Just do your best. Good luck my friend.
