Hello!!
I need advice.
So I turned in my application for the LVN program at the community college I'm enrolled in. We get our acceptance letters towards the end of March.
Last year (like June) I applied for a CNA position at a local hospital where I also volunteer. Well, in August I received an email saying I meet the minimum requirements and they would let me know if I'd be selected for an interview. This was 6 months ago! I had given up and just thought they had filled the position. So....now I just received an email saying I have been selected for an interview! Interview are the beginning of March.
I'm just confused, I'm not sure what to do because I've always wanted to just focus all my time into school if I were to get accepted into the program. I don't find out if I'm accepted till the end of March and interviews for CNA are the beginning of March. My boyfriend and family says I should just give it a try anyway. But if I get accepted, I would have to quit after like 3 months. I mean, I don't even know what makes me feel so confident that I'll get accepted, but I just don't know what to do...
I do want to follow up with the interview, but idk what to do after that...

You could always do it and then when you start school, cut your hours back to PRN or part-time. Working in the field while in school may come in really helpful because you can get "extra" training from the nurses you work with and they can also be great resources for you.

If it was me I would go for the interview at the hospital. When/if you get into the lvn program you can drop your hours down to part time. Having your "foot in the door" at the hospital will give you a better chance of getting a job there once you finish your program, especially if you are planning on eventually getting your BSN. During your interview they may even ask what your future plans are in which you might be able to talk about your plans to go to school for nursing. Also some hospitals will help pay for part of your education when pursuing a degree that could be a benifit to them.
