CNA Exam Tomorrow

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Good Morning,

I'm scheduled to take my exam tomorrow (so nervous). This may be a weird question but I'm asking anyways..... what did you wear when you took your exam. Should I go in scrubs? Casual wear? And how long did you stay at the testing site? My paper says be prepared to stay all day and bring a bag lunch.

Thanks alot everyone!

Mine is on Friday. I am pretty nervous, too, because it has been 3 weeks since my class ended, and I'm afraid that I will forget something. I also wanna know what I should wear to the test, the paper says to wear something loose. I hope I can pass on the first time, I don't wanna waste $95 to take it again.

Specializes in Long term care.

I think you will be most comfortable in scrubs but, wear what you are comfortable in and what will make you feel relaxed.

When I took my test I waited 3 hours before I was even called in. and it took me a total of less than 30 minutes to complete both skills and written tests.

So a snack/lunch would have been a good idea for me.

My "waiting area" was the hallway/entrance area of the local community college...Very boring and I was wishing I had brought a good book or newspaper. Keep in mind that the proctor may ask you to leave any material you bring with you outside (unsupervised)the testing area.

I did NOT bring any study material because I felt that it would only make me more nervous.

We had to wear scrubs per the program.

Relax, breath and don't forget to close the curtain/door before you begin care ;)

I received my admission paper Saturday in the mail. For my test date this Tuesday. Kinda of short notice but excited that the wait over. Good luck on Friday! Let us know how it went:up:

Specializes in ICU Stepdown.

When I took my exam in MN, nobody wore scrubs. Everyone wore casual/comfortable clothes (jeans mainly). There's really no point in wearing scrubs. You're not getting messy or over exerting yourself. I think you'll be self conscious if you end up being the only one wearing scrubs. My exam started at 10AM and I was out by 1PM. But it'll depend on how many people are testing and what order you're in for skills.

How did it go? I hope you passed the test! I'm too nervous for this Friday.

I PASSED MY TEST!!!!! I'M SOOOOOOO FREAKING HAPPY.

It was a long day. I arrived at my testing site at 8:30am and did not leave til after 2pm. I took my written test first and after your done they let you know if you passed or fail. But no info on the score. Then I waited what seemed like forever to do my clinical. So while waiting I reviewed some skills on YouTube and went over notes in my head. My 3 skills were ROM on left elbow and wrist, Pulse and Partial Bed Bath.

You will do great and pass. Just remember to take your time, breath and remember you always fix a something as long as you don't say 'I am done' before.

Wow! Congratulation! That's amazing. I'm so happy for you. I hope I can post the same thing tomorrow! Where are you from? I'm from Texas, and we have to do 5 skills :(

Did they give you anything that say you pass right there or you have to wait in the mail for it? I already have a job offer, so I will start working as soon as I pass the test tomorrow.

Thank you for the information! I can feel less anxious now.
