Does anybody wear Nursing support socks/stockings? My feet and legs hurt at the end of the day and I was wondering if they actually work.

Oh heavens yes. I swear by mine. No more tired and heavy feeling legs at the end of the day.

Absolutely. I work 12 hour shifts in acute rehab. Totally makes a big difference

"No day but today"

I didn't my first two semesters and just put up with my aching feet/legs. In June I took a perioperative summer class and ended up buying support stockings after the first day in the OR. Now I wear them to all my clinicals. To answer your question, yes they work pretty well in my opinion/experience.

Yup.

It's the only way that my legs can handle my shifts. I swear, my toe was going numb!

I started wearing them in nursing school, and liked them so much that I've only worn support hose ever since, outside of work. Makes a big difference by the end of a busy shift/day. I like the "full support" brand that Hanes makes -- they are comparatively inexpensive at the Hanes/L'eggs outlets, come in white as well as other colors, and wear forever. They are a little heavy for "fashion" wear, so I wear the "Sheer Energy" style for outside of work.

Don't put them (or any support hose, or any kind of elastic/spandex fabric) in the dryer -- the heat kills the elasticity. I've always washed mine in the washer (in a hosiery bag) and air dried them.

Wow thank you for all the feedback!! I will definitely buy a pair! Sounds like I'll be buying the Hanes brand.
