Clinical Privileges

Published

Hi,

Maybe a silly question, but I'm trying to apply to a company that ask a question that I am unsure of the answer.

Question is:

Do you currently have or have you ever had clinical privileges at any health care institute, agency or organization?

I currently work at a dialysis outpt clinic do all the nursing duties there, also I am charge nurse for my pt's and staff, was wondering if that is considered having clinical privileges or not. I don't diagnose or prescribe meds is this what they mean?

Thanks in advance

Yes, that is what is meant by "clinical privileges."

For instance, I'm an APN employed by a nephrology practice to see pts in multiple dialysis units. I have clinical privileges thru Fresenius and Davita as well as all the hospitals that I go to.

Good luck on the job.
