Clinical and bio class

I'm starting my first official clinical at Muhlenberg school of nursing in New Jersey in sept. I also need to take a&p ii. I just wanted to know if anyone else has taken a bio class and and a clincal at the same time. Was it difficult? How did you make out as far as the work load and grades?

I can tell you that it's not going to be easy, hence why most nursing programs require anatomy and physiology as a pre-requisite before starting nursing school. I'm sure that there are some that integrate it into the program, but your life would be so much easier if you were able to take it before starting your nursing classes. It's going to be challenging because A&P requires a significant amount of time to learn and memorize the information and your clinical class will require a significant amount of time spent preparing for your actual clinical days in addition to class time.

If you can get an nclex study book and spend the rest of your summer going over it, I found that it really covered a&p I and ii. I used the Illustrated guide to the nclex. Also if you can get the book the Elements of Medical Terminology by Applegate, and do that book this summer, you'll be way ahead. It's an old book, but I saw it was recommended and it's not thick at all, and it really helped me.

One other thing you might be able to do to make the fall easier is find out how many or if there are papers for your apii class. We had 2 papers where one was we could pick our own topic. If you can do that this summer you'll save yourself some time.

Thank you! I do know that a&p classes require a lot of time as I've already completed a&p I. I'm just looking for a little encouragement and positivity from others who are going through or have gone through the same situation.
