Clinic RN pay

Published

Hello everyone! I am currently a bedside RN with a potential opportunity to work in a women's health clinic. I expected the pay to be less, however I was not expecting the number they threw out. I just wanted to get some ideas as to whether what I was offered is too low or about right. If you feel comfortable, please let me know what you make in a clinic and what part of the country you live in. I live in the midwest. Thank you!

Lower than you would expect, but for me quality of life can not be beat, of course, that's after over 4 decades in critical care trenches

Specializes in Nurse Leader specializing in Labor & Delivery.

What is your current salary and what did they offer you?

Roughly 50,000 without shift differential; I haven't gotten an official offer but the numbers they threw out for the nurses that work there were roughly about 38,000 a year.

Sounds reasonable for a clinic that is unattached to a major system. I make what my peer would make on the floor, simply due to the umbrella of the system. An RN is an RN is an RN, whether floor, OR or clinic.

Yeah, clinic nurses are paid significantly less here than the acute care bedside nurses, but like one of the PP said, it's worth it for the quality of life. If I didn't have child care issues, I would be working at a clinic in a heartbeat.
