Hi everybody,
I had a question for everybody: I have heard of Climara or other estrogen delivery systems being used to control sexual behavior in men. For example to control fondling of female patients. I was wondering if any of you have heard estrogens being used in this fashion? And if so if anybody knows where to point me for some research about it. I found some research using Yahoo and WebMD, but it still left questions unanswered.
Any help would be appreciated,
PS: this is not for a school research paper, just some research I'm doing for my workplace. I seem to be my bosses personal research go to guy. Thanks to a lot of help from you guys.
Thanks

I think Marcus works in LTC..... I see estrogen used on males with aggressive sexual behaviors towards the helpless female residents...I have also seen prozac help (men and women-I had a gal last yr that used to throw her dress up over her hdead and masturbate in the middle of the lobby. No dignity there.....poor gal) What kind of questions do you have? Maybe I can help......These behaviors are a BIG problem in LTC....and very rough on the families-especially when the resident is demented to the point of not recognizing his own children-) Here is a good link for you....http://psychservices.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/content/full/50/3/349

In general, drugs that lower one's sexual drive have NO influence on the direction or focus of that drive, just the overall amount of energy behind it.
