Cleveland Clinic Weston, FL Hiring Process

Published

Hello,

I just had an interview at Cleveland Clinic, FL for an RN position. Is there anyone out there that remembers their hiring process? The nurse manager mentioned it could take 2 weeks for HR to get back to me. I'm just wondering if anyone has insight into the hiring process at Cleveland clinic?

Thanks.

This is exactly what I herd from the manager as well during my interview. Have you herd anything back yet.

Are you a new grad? I am interested in Cleveland Clinic

I am not a new grad, but they will have a new grad residency starting in March.

I had a surgery there in Dec. and I heard the nurses talking about how they prefer new nurses. Not sure how accurate that was but they said they prefer new nurses so they can train them the way they like.

WOWWWWWW

thats great to hear. I plan on moving to florida next year and I've always told my boyfriend everytime i visit, I feel like CLeveland Clinic will be the place that I will end up working.

Hi, it's a culture shock down here. I came from working in Canada where nurses are well protected and governed by a huge union, to working in south FL where there is no union and nurses are not as well respected. I left one hospital and now I work at Holy Cross (magnet) where it is wayyy better. I heard that CC is obsessed with their doctors and forget about their wonderful nurses. My gut said to work at holy cross so I am now. Good luck. You make the most out of your work place! Stay positive and do not tolerate crappy working conditions.

Hi lazz1,

I am glad to here you are really liking Holy Cross.

I agree that it will be a culture shock coming from NY and working here in Florida. I am originally from CA and lived in NY and after being here for six years I feel like I finally found a comparable hospital.

Ladyt03,

I was hired at both Cleveland Clinic and Holy cross and I feel that you can't go wrong with either. Holy cross is the only magnet facility in Broward county, but Cleveland Clinic is applying for Magnet status as well and I don't see why they wouldn't get approved. Cleveland Clinic is a well known teaching hospital associated with the Cleveland Clinic brand in Ohio, which is always in the top 4 of hospitals in the U.S. At Cleveland Clinic the doctors are treated the same as any other employee and are on a salary just like the nurses(they are not on contacts) and they go through yearly evaluations as well. There is no financial incentive for doctors to come here; they come because they know and love the Cleveland Clinic Brand. I love that they are very modern and innovated. Mostly everything you do there is modern and convenient. For example, you rarely have to call the doctor, we contact the residents by sending a text via a computer. They will respond to you via phone within minutes or come right out to see the patient. They put in all there own orders as well.

I would recommend you apply before coming down because as you may already know, it's very difficult to find a job as a new grad as well as an experienced nurse.

Good luck to you!

I've always been interested in Holy Cross because of their Residency Program and Baptiste Health cause of the Residency Program also, and they're in the top three best hospitals to work for in the US. I always here people saying Florida has no Union. I have been conversing with the Florida Nurses Association and they told me they're a union.

Thank you my dear. I plan on applying before I move...and if I get some experience in NY whilst I'm waiting on FLorida, I will take it. I plan on doing my BSN program down there also. I am in Florida every month and I love it. When the times comes, I also plan on going in person to deliver my resumes.

I am very excited about my nursing career....and thanks to Allnurses and the wonderful people on here, it multiplies my excitement times 10! (cyberhug)

Hmm, perhaps there is a union, but they must keep very quiet. I don't see or hear about a union advocating for patient safety and safe RN to patient ratios like I did in Canada. I'm only here for two years, and then i am headed back to the north to work.

Over here in New York Unions are very large. If they could come to an interview with you they would. They like a glove on your hand.
