clear liquid

Published

hello, I have a question for exam review. does clear liquid diet means clear at room temperature or body temperature (higher than room temperature)? and the easier way to distinguish full liquid diet from clear liquid in addition to remember lots of examples. Please help and Thanks thanks so much!

As it was explained to us, and as is supported by the definition found here, a clear liquid diet consists of anything that is clear and liquid at room temp. It's not that they have to be eaten at a certain temp but by that definition, things like jello or popsicles, which don't really seem like liquids in the state that they are eaten, are included.

what you're looking to avoid with clear liquids is solids, and solids in suspension will render a fluid, well, not clear. that's the point, no solids to go down the hatch, even if they're in suspension. clear.
