Clackamas Program 2008: Points & GPA

Looks like you have a good shot. I have a GPA of 3.33, I forgot what my total calculated pts were. I have 9 of the 12 extra pts and an associate degree. Last year I missed Clackamas's by 2.4 pts, but last year I had only 6 of the 12 extra pts.

I have approximately 47 points, 3.45 GPA. Anyone know what the cut off point was last year to get an interview?

Anyone applying to Mt. Hood? My points there is 59 so I'm hoping to at least get an interview there.

Last year the cut off was 47 points. I missed it by 1.42 points with a 3.81 GPA.

How did you calculate your points for GPS. I was reviewing the app materials and it just stated a max of 40 points for GPA. So I assume a 4.0 worth 40 points... a 3.913 would be 39.13 poits, etc. Is this correct?

Clackamas has a kooky equation to calculate points for GPA.

So for my MHCC app...

- GPA: 3.91

- Points: 58.13 (if I calculated them correctly.)

I believe the calculation method from the Clackamas GPA sheet is the correct method to use for Mt. Hood as well. I have a 4.0 for Mt. Hood because they waive the writing courses, otherwise they would bring down my GPA. I took these 15 years ago and I really didn't want to retake them just for Clackamas. All other OCNE programs waive them though.

I saw the statistics for Mt. Hood too. The points for those accepted to interview I can only assume are the TOTAL points including those FROM the interview, right?

I believe the points of those accepted for interview do not include the point you may earn in the interview/essay.

I didn't apply to CCC (because I'm a dummy...I don't know why I didn't apply) but for MHCC here are my stats:

GPA is 3.91

A&P GPA is 4.0

points are 59.1 (I think) or it is possible that my points are 54.1.... I don't know whether or not they are going to give me the extra 5 points for having all 45 pre-reqs done because I didn't take the 1 credit computer course....it sounds like it is optional....so I'm not sure.

I would have to assume, like you did, that the points for those accepted to the interview INLCUDE the points they actually earned on the interview because it says they range goes up to 89 and you can only earn a maximum of 70 points pre-interview and that would be with ALL the extras including a master's degree AND 2+ years of full time CNA work...so how did someone get 89 points unless that included their interview score?

I'm so anxious to find out I can't stand it!!! :bugeyes:

I have 55 pts for clackamas and their system is not the same as mhcc. The points are slightly calculated differently. I only had 45 pts for CCC last year and since the cutoff was 47 I missed the interview. Hopefully this year with 55 pts I will at least get an interview.

Is it an actual interview or written essay? I will be applying at CCC for 2008. Have not calculated my points yet. GPA 3.8. Good luck to everyone!
