Hello! I thought I could start this thread to gather as many CCC nursing students who were just accepted into the program. I figured we could share our stories and get ready for our world as nursing students at Clackamas! Congrats to everyone and let's begin this journey! I am so excited!
Thank you for that alewiss513! I could have sworn we only needed WR 121 & WR122 if they were 4 credits. So happy about that! Also, To those who are worried about being full time for FA, you really only get like $400 more if you're full-time compared to 3/4 time, so it's not that big of a difference. Unfortunately, what they do cut is your grant money in this case which I do not appreciate, if that is your concern.
Thanks. If you don't mind me asking when did you apply for financial aid for CCC? I applied in may 1st and haven't heard anything from then we in regards to an award letter
Do you mean filled out your FASFA in May??? if that's the case it will take a while. I filled out my FASFA in January. CCC should get to your FASFA soon if you have sent in all the documents, such as Financial aid form for Nursing program, verification form, etc.... If you look under my documents in your CCC account, it will tell you all that you need. Have you got all of that filled out yet?
I did mine online and it was accepted and sent to CCC. I've checked all tabs in the financial aid section of my clackamas and there is nothing. Im thinking of calling to see if it was received.
Maybe you should but, I'm sure it's coming soon. Yes, you will see any forms under my documents that they have received or still need from you, so, maybe they haven't received it yet, meaning, they haven't gotten to it yet. Have you already earned a degree (BS, AS) from somewhere else? If so , you will also need to file for a FA time -frame extension as well and have the nursing adviser fill it out. So annoying how many things we have to do just to get aid. Stressful.

@JaymeeL...if you're just taking classes for financial aid reasons, maybe think about medical terminology? If you haven't already taken it, you could take that. It's a 4 credit class and offered online at PCC and it'll help you with nursing (recognition of words, learning how to break them down). It seems like a lot of work, but, its really not. There are weekly quizzes and homework, but you'll breeze right through them. I took it last term and got an A and I think it was beneficial for me in terms of being able to break down words into the root meanings for sure. I took ----------------------------.
