Civilian Nurse in Germany

Published

I'm a new grad BSN. I really want to work as a civilian nurse in Germany. Has anyone ever applied? How long did it take for you be called? Were you hired? I've applied about a week ago and don't know what to except.

Any comment/tips will be appreciated!!

Specializes in Med/Surg, Ortho, ASC.

What is a civilian nurse in Germany?

Specializes in Emergency Medicine.

You mean in an American military facility? Getting those slots are very hard and not for new nurses. The defense contract for these GS positions is also dwindling bc we are no longer in an active conflict and no longer need civilian nurse to back fill positions bc the military nurses are available to take those assignments.

Not going to happen, especially as a new grad.

It is not clear to me if you are asking about employment within the military hospital in Germany or just in Germany.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

You can check usajobs.gov, but those positions typically require at least one year of experience.
