Hi, is anyone else applying for next semester?

Hey, if your gonna start in the spring make sure you take both prerequisites along with your teas exam and yes u can submit your application in spring 2020 before the fall semester.

Thanks! Yeah I definitely will. I was wondering is the teas any different from the nln exam? Also, I saw on the webpage of city tech that you are guaranteed 60 credits towards the bachelors (120 credits). If I take courses (chem, pathways, and such)/have credit that apply towards the bachelors will it all transfer? Thank you!

Hey All,

I spoke with the nursing department and they said they're having the decision meeting next Tuesday the 7th and we should be hearing an answer within a week from then. Figure I pass the information along, stay positive and good luck!

Omg thank you for this! I’ve been stalking this page hoping someone would say something. I’m so nervous! Wishing everyone the best! Maybe we can form study groups or a group convo to talk here and there

Yes I don’t mind forming a study group or group convo. Good luck I hope u get in.

Hey guys,

I was looking into this program and just had a couple of questions. I had emailed the program and they are taking a while to get back to me.

I was wondering if a writing intensive course or a score of 3 on the English AP exam can substitute for ENG101? Can Intro to Statistics be supplemented for MAT1190? Also if you retake a prerequisite, does the program replace the grade or take the average of the grades?

Last question, what were the competitive grades for acceptance?

If anyone has any answers to the questions, I would greatly appreciate the help!

Thanks,

Jen

Hi there @FutureNurseJen The nursing dep. will accept whatever City Tech's Transfer/Admissions Departments accepts. So if they count your AP English as Credit for English 1101 so will the Nursing Dept. however, I highly doubt they will accept AP credit or a writing intensive course for English 1101. They do not allow you to retake a course unless you've earned a D or F in that pre req course, instead they allow you to substitute ONE pre req course for a higher grade earned (ex. If you received a C in A&P 1 but received an A in A&P 2 you can swap out the lower grade for the higher one but you can only do that for ONE pre req course). They do not accept statistics as math, you will either have to take Math 1190 or 1275, 1375, 1475 or 1575. As far as acceptance goes, Iv heard the cut offs for GPAs has been 3.40 and up but that changes depending on the semester and applicants. I hope I answered you questions and feel free to reach out if you have any more, good luck!

@FutureNurseJen PS- sorry for anything that's misspelled lol, fast Typer here!

Omg you’re not the only one it’s killing me too. Do you think they’ll send us an email or a mail?

@shanay101 Yes! The wait is Crazy! I know when I spoke to them they said they where reviewing applicants yesterday but I didn't think it was gonna be more than a day type of thing; I thought emails would be sent today at least. From what I was told, it's through email the acceptance/reject letter and a friend of mine said she received hers via email last semester.

I'm so over though lol, I just wanna know so I can move on mentally with my life! @shanay101
