City tech nursing 2017?

Published

Hi, I was wondering how my chances are getting into the nursing program for the spring 2017 semester. I have a 3.5 pre req gpa and A in a&p and a 90 on the teas. I know they mostly

look at gpa which is why I'm so nervous... I heard 3.5 is the cutoff. I got a B in eng comp but I got a 95 on the English portion on the teas so I was hoping that would better my chances. I'm really nervous!!! If anyone is in the program please give me your insight!!!

Has anyone received acceptance letters as of today?

Nothing yet. I looked through my mail box, email, and nothing has shown up. They are taking pretty long

Has anyone heard if they got accepted yet?

Spoke to someone at the office acceptance letters were mailed out so you won't get an e-mail.

I called the department this morning & I was told it will take like 5 business days before we receive the letters.I was shocked because it's just Brooklyn and I don't know why a letter sent on Thursday should take that long.

If you don't mind could you please share your gpa and teas score.

This wait is killing me :dead:

Hello everyone!

I am on the same boat. The anticipation is unbearable at times! I have been checking my emails obsessively and rushing home to check the mailbox.

I read in a previous post that applicants who are not accepted into the program received an email notification. Was this rejection email notification for the Spring 2017 entry, or was it a reference to previous semester(s)? If they emailed applicants who did not make into this Spring 2017 pool, then that sounds like most of us may be getting the letter in the mail? I am still not sure how the Nursing Department has worked out this acceptance and rejection process. Perhaps, the current students who are on this forum can give us a bit more insight.

Looking forward to reading everyone's updates! (And maybe meeting some of you in a few weeks!)

So when I handed in my application I was told that I would get an email to my citytech account, but a friend of mine who started the program last year said she only received a letter in the mail. I'm hearing conflicting information but I figure if I don't get anything by the end of this week to call them or probably go in person to the department and find out.

Hi everyone,

my classmate received denial on December 29,2016 by email for spring 2017. Someone else said they also received an email for waitlist. I'm not sure if they're changing the process but they usually send out approval letters by mail. Although when I handed my application back in November the guy told me I should receive an email. I had also called last week and they told me letters were sent out. I guess we will have to wait to see which one it'll be.

This gives me hope :nurse:

Hi Gabriella123,

Thanks for the prompt response. I, too, was told by the designated staff (I don't want to drop his name) that I would expect some sort of communication via email, specifically the email that we provided on our application. Yes, we will have to wait and see what happens by the end of this week to find out.

Good luck!
