city tech nursing acceptance letter spring 2015

Did anyone received a letter from city tech whether you got accept to not to the nursing program for the spring 2015? I still haven't received anything and I'm getting worried

They sell name tag. You don't need to do anything for it.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I did not hand in a copy unfortunately.However, I have the email the testing center sent me which has teas scores and it clearly states my grades were sent to NY city college of tech. But I will call the office by Monday and go in with a print out of everything. Hopefully everything will turn out positive.

I wish you could print out your result and hand them w your applications. I hope they will be nice to accept you after this moment. They usually very strict rules. Good luck

When we register for the classes it says the text book we need. Does it change or no? So I can start buying it now. Also do we have to buy the edition it says to buy or can buy an older edition ?

I always use old edition while at city tech due $$$ I remember only one question I missed due new edition only have that information. It's up to your budget. Fundamental of nursing only one semester and u will never use that book again but med surge (2nd semester) starts and u will use that book till end of the school .

Absolutely correct! :) saved a ton of money renting and buying older editions... no difference except for the page numbers

Plus you can get pdf version if you use tablet / iPad .. I always got pdf and so convenience.. Lippincott, med surge / med surg success .. Just look torrents. There is almost all book free ! If you know how to use torrents

I have 11 credits if I do the nursing classes and microbiology. Any suggest of any classes I should take that I will need in the future?

Honey you do not want to take other classes if you don't have to. When they tell you nursing school is hard, city tech is that and more. The reason why city tech has a 90%+ nclex passing rate is because their program is designed to be tough and herd out a majority of the students. Out of the 80 students that started in our first semester, only 14 successfully graduated without ever repeating.

If you must take another class then nutrition, pathophysiology, statistics, personnel and organizational psychology are some that are required in the bachelor's program but f/a Will not cover them because they are not part of the current degree you are going for, which is ASN.

Yeap... At first semester just take nursing class. I took 18 credit for some reason and my nursing prof told me crazy lol it was super hard taking 5 class.

As previous post mentioned 80 student starts and 14 of graduate without failing. Some of them fail 2 times and out of program , some of them repeats, some of them realize that they can't take two class at one time after failing one time.

Trust me, you CAN'T compare other classes with nursing classes at CITY TECH!! Period !!

Wow. Thanks for the tip. But that means I'll be part time and I won't get financial aid if that happens. Also the only class I'm gonna take besides nursing classes is mircobiology . Should I take it or not?

Don't take microbiology now my suggestion. You can take it summer and that would be much easier for you. Take speech class, or sociology, psyc 2404 something easy that you can use your BSN also. Microbiology is really time consuming labs and lecture and your exam dates can match.
