Hi everyone! I applied for the spring 2020, just wanted to start a discussion to see who else applied. Curious to know the points you got when calculating and just support eachother through this process. To my calculations I scored about 38 points before the TEAS. Not sure if I used the correct points though. Good luck, everyone!

I sent the email 10 min ago to decline my seat. Hopefully someone gets in today. They might be busy working on orientation.

They also said they are on #55 for standby. But considering that was kala, #56 should be called next.

Mrrn she probably said that because she’s possibly not allowed to tell us the status of where they are on the standby list. (The tensionnnnn!)

Well, I just emailed my questions instead of calling constantly. But they basically said that they would try to get back to more standby this week and they want to try working one on one with those who missed orientation/uniform fitting etc. the email mentioned that they wanna try getting thru with the standby list by the end of the fall sem but there have been times people have been contacted all the way thru the first day of instruction!

hope this update helps people waiting for the call as well.

I thought it was an automatic drop if you miss orientation? Or does that mean no orientation for the standbys that get called?

@EDT2EDRN, I believe they meant the standbys who are getting called after orientation will have a one on one meeting to do their orientation / fitting.

Personally, I am just confused because shouldn't they know right now if their class is full or not... and do people just suddenly back out from their spots and we are just waiting on that moment?

Wow thank you for all the info Mrrn ! Tbh they’re probably waiting until orientation today. They probably have a lot of information to cover and probably won’t be getting to any waitlisted people today at least. But they’ll probably start making their rounds. My friend was waitlisted with chabot as number 24 with a class of 40 and she ended up getting in. People drop constantly as they hear back from the schools they truly want to attend or that are closer for them to commute to. You’ll hear something! My mom always said an anticipated phone call never comes if you stay by the phone. I’ve been utilizing this time to get my AA and take other classes and for those of us who have been bedside ER Techs/CNAs for awhile we can even try challenging the LVN Board! I’ve been rejected a lot. But you gotta admit, it’s pretty fortunate we made it this far.

Also you guys can also check to see how many ppl registered for this semester’s nursing classes just to see an estimate of how many are fully Registered for the cohort!

I’m super confused about this whole process but it does make sense logically and all. Patience and trying not to wait by the phone has been by biggest struggle. I’m glad you guys are so positive and encouraging tho. It helps.
