Tweety that seems like poor planning on their part

Ado I find Christmas a bit down too, somehow as a holiday it seems more stressful than the others and less interesting once you're an adult

Stars glad you will have some time to yourself today

Dianah a Currier and Ives themed Christmas sounds interesting

NJ22 my friend B and his mother will also be seeing It's a Wonderful Life at a local independent theater

Work was pretty busy yesterday though again my coworker helped with the the stuff for the other coworker who is off. The insurance company we work with is closed today so today shouldn't be busy

After work was going to stop at the pharmacy and Traders Joes.  Skipped the pharmacy because the lines were crazy.  Very hard time finding parking at Trader Joes.  Guess all the stores are busy around this time

Planning to start work unusually early today so I can get out at 4.  Plans are still uncertain, talked to dad last night and uncertain when my sister will get here. I think I'm going to recommend we go to my cousin's first and then stop by my dad's place to open gifts.  Then I have be usher and reader at church.  Nice service, but at 10:30 which is pretty late for me

Think it will be a bit warmer, in the mid or upper 30s

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.  Are you getting of early like a lot of businesses?

Dianah, sounds like a good time.

Stars, how is Nannie doing at daycare?  Hope it's a good match.

Ado, sorry you're down in the dumps.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

I have to shampoo my hair; it's now or never! Will get in the shower in a minute so I can get it done before I have to go get Nannie up out of bed. She did that on her own again last night.....twice! Once after she'd only been in bed for an hour! Then again at 4 AM.

She gets some kind of amusement from me going downstairs and putting her back to bed; she always smiles when I tell her it is the middle of the night and she has to go back to bed and sleep. But at least she doesn't resist at the time. It is getting to be a regular thing. Not that it makes a heck of a lot of difference to her, but I do tell her that if she continues to get up and wander around in the dark, she could fall or become otherwise injured. That would necessitate either having a night-nurse on duty here or her being placed in a safer environment like a nursing home memory-care unit.

Anyway, I am tolerating the closeness of Christmas, but wish it was all over with . I won't be getting for Christmas what I could REALLY use, and there are no "traditions" going on here. Nannie's church had essentially been incommunicado to her with the exception of two ladies who continue to send her cards, and she has no idea anymore of who they are. Oft times the cards 'disappear' after she has become more confused about 'from whence they came" and why. This is when we say THANK GOODNESS she has that short-term memory loss, and at the first opportunity we hide the cards in her horrendously large collection of cards she has kept for years.....most of which she doesn't remember anyway. It may be searched through by the iL's but will all probably be dumped eventually, so there ya go.

Welp, I better get cleaned up. My hair has a desperate tendency to get flat in the back because my two most recent hairdressers don't understand when I tell them how it needs to be cut in the back. I USED TO BE ABLE to do it myself, and I gotta say I have always done a much better job of cutting my own hair than anyone else. Oh well, at my age, it would do well for me to let go of that vanity, because as my mother used to tease us, "Nobody's going to look at you!" Not cruel, just saying that people pay more close attention to things happening with and to themselves, more than to others' things like concern's about their appearance. Nowadays I think well, nobody here really knows me, so it doesn't matter. But, I do admit that my hair is the only thing I am vain about. Not that it has to be perfect, but it behaves itself for easy care IF IT IS CUT RIGHT. I found out in the days of the Farrah Fawcett hairdo, you cannot convince my hair to do something it doesn't want to do, or do well. It loses any styling attempts within a half hour of it being 'done'. My hair wants to hang down, so I have a cut that lets it do that without a lot of picky-pooky primping.

And now that you have had a brief history of my hair.....🙃🙄 ....Imma get in the shower!

OK, tawk wif youze'all laydah....

I must admit I have washed SOME of my bad attitude away in the shower, and now that my hair is "good", I feel better and am a happier camper than I was an hour and a half ago!

Talking about good hair.....Frank Zappa used to say ,,, on one of his albums, I think it was toward the end of Suzie Creamcheese, where some guy in the background says, "Hey, my hair's getting good in the back." My younger brother and I used to kick that quote around a lot, even years after it faded into oblivion, or as a boxer (the guy who bit off part of Evanders' ear_)   used to say. "I guess I'll just fade off into Bolivia".

Well Bolivia might be interesting for a while, but before I fade off into it, I have to get the Nannie person up.

Merry Happy Christmas Eve and Day to one and all 😊

Hubs and I ventured out to Wally World. It wasn't as bad as I anticipated. I got a butane torch because I want to make creme brulee. I still want to make it to the bookstore. The tree is up but not decorated.

Hello all, and Merry Christmas Eve!

This week I watched Miracle On 34th Street (had seen it LOOOOOOOONG, long ago), and a TV version (1983) of The Nutcracker ballet.  Tonight dh and I will watch It's A Wonderful Life, to usher in Christmas.  We went for a walk in the business district of the little town next to ours.  It was cloudy and misty while we walked, and not too many ppl were out and about.  I thought there would be more ppl doing last-minute shopping!  Well, maybe that's only at the large malls...  It was nice to see the decorations and to just stroll the streets.

nursej22, love the Santa!

Have a good, safe evening, all!

The cantata went well on Sunday. At tonight's Christmas Eve service I had volunteered to do a reading and ended up doing a lot which made me a little nervous but all was well.

I've made desserts for tomorrow and the meal will be simple to prepare. I did make it to Barnes & Noble so I feel good about having gifts for everyone. I'm waiting for the dishwasher to finish so I can load it up again. And I guess I'll get out some ornaments for the tree and find our stocking. The boys do seem to appreciate our little traditions but I don't know about Hubs.

The hospital was up to 7 patients today then I think discharged a couple. I might end up working tomorrow night. Twin A is on the mend and will likely go to work tomorrow evening.

We watched Home Alone this evening.

We just finished watching It's A Wonderful Life (yes I got teary-eyed at the end).  I checked with NORAD: Santa is over South Dakota.

Merry Christmas!
