Any input would be greatly appreciated! I have been accepted to both Christ and Good Sam nursing program. Has anyone heard any pro's or con's on either of these programs? I'm just trying to figure out which school I should go with, because I only have 30 days to pay my fee to hold my spot for Christ. Thanks for your help!

Hi Jennifer!
I too was accepted to both Christ and Good Sam so congrats!!!!!!!! we did it!!!! However, i decided against Good Sam because my start date for the program was August 2010! and Christ start is August 2009! I think they are both very similar programs. I never went to an info session at Good Sam, so do not know much about it, but with Christ they had some good aspects as far as getting some money towards tuition if you work as a PCA at christ hospital while you are school, i believe they also have something at christ hospital where they give you a certain amount of money towards going on to get your BSN if you work at christ hospital. so i would check into things like that to see what works best for you!
I am now deciding whether to go to Christ for my ADN or UC's accelerated nursing program! ahhh decisions decisions!!!
hope i helped a little!
congratulation to you as well!! i also had a start date of aug 2010 at good sam, so i'm leaning more towards christ, because of the 2009 start date. i think i'm just nervous and i want to make sure i’m making the right choice!! thanks for the input and i'll check into the tuition reimbursement. hope you make the right choice and maybe i’ll see you at christ!!
I understand being nervous about making the right choice. I COMPLETELY hear you and am strugling as well. The $$ that Christ would give you I wouldn't necessarily call it "tuition reimbursement" but i would say more like tuition assistance. I am pretty sure in the info session they talked about that. Unfortunately they did away with the tuition reimbursement (work for christ and get the 2 years paid for!) but this is still good cause u work for them while going to school and they help pay the bills a little bit! BUT i could be completely wrong, so do check into that!!! GOOD luck!

hi guys!!!!!!!! my name is grace and i got into christ as well when did you receice the letters i didnt get mine til monday the 16th so i was freaking out!!! i know you were talking bout good sam as well i decided not to go to good sam because of the waiting for the clinincals but their program is similar to uc's bsn i was currently attending uc and was doing pre nursing but i became sick and had a close friend die so i didnt do well on my pre-reqs and had to drop before my gpa suffer and i def would not have a chance at uc's bsn program without them, back to your conversation they are both great programs and very competitive good sam is a little more expensive. i learned bout both programs from my pre nursing advisor at uc because i told her my dream was to become an rn and she told me that i have the potential to do get in at this schools and she said both of them are great because they are in a hospital setting and that if you decide to go to uc for the bsn thru their rn to bsn program every single credit will transfer and it will only take a year!!!!!!!! she also said christ pays for it if you work for them so either you will make a great decision i work at childrens hospital and i see christ students and good sams doing their clinicals there and the nurses are very pleased with the way they carry themselves and their knowledege.....it all comes down to whether you want to wait for the clinicals or not thats all it is...back to christ i hope i can come with the 350 by april money is tight right now as you all know nice to meet you guys hope to c you in agust!!!!! take care ladies.:typing
do you guys know the fafsa code for christ??????//
hi grace! i filled out my fafsa today also and i couldn't find their code. do you know that there is no financial aid there? so i'm confused, because even though i fill out a fafsa every year i don't get grants, i get student loans through sallie mae. so the ladies i go to school with right now said i should be fine, but i'm not sure if i'll have to pay out of pocket for the whole program or not. do you know anything about this? i did talk to a lady today at christ and she said that the financial aid department will be sending us information in about a week.
wow thats crazy that they dont have financial aid the adminitstrative assistant told me to call the financial aid dept and ask her bout financial aid she said they dont have a fafsa code and i dont have no other way to pay for school if is not thru grants or loans hopefully they got some good financial packets for students and i think they should give every single student admitted a scholarship just for gettin in thanks for replying bye.
yeah i've been looking around the house and thinking about what i can sell to come up with the money for the first semester. the lady i spoke with yesterday felt pretty certain that they will have financial aid up and running by the end of the fall semester. i talk to my husband and we could probably squeeze by paying for one semester, but i don't know where i'd come up with anymore than that. hopefully we the packets come next week we'll be able to make a decision!
yea i hope they come soon will you be doing the 3 year or the 2 year track? i am not sure which one i want to do:sofahider...
I'm doing the 2 year track. I met with a man at Christ last summer and ask him about the 3 year track and if I was doing well with it could I move up to the 3 year track and he said no. BUT.... if you start with the 2 year track and feel overwhelmed you can move down to the 3 year track. Do you have any of your generals done? If you look at the 3 year track all you would be doing for the first year is your generals.
i want to do the 2 yr track bc i am hoping some of my gen eds will transfer from the university of cincinnati. so that way i wont have a lot of my plate with the nursing courses if i do the 3 year track i probably wont be able to be full time. i just want to go the fastest route because i stay on my own and my parents dont help with the bills. thats why i am anxious to find out how i will be able to pay for the first year. the lady at the financial aid dept said you can use the fafsa code for cincinnati state because they dont got one but they should have financial aid very soon. if you use the code for cincinnati state they can transfer the info when they finally have the financial aid.
