U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Does anyone know anything about the CHOP nurse residency for December graduates? I know the last posting was for those graduating through October. When does CHOP traditionally have postings for nurse resident? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

@Ciara Casey What residencies did you interview for? I am still waiting to hear back about offers as well!

Hi guys! Recently accepted a position at CHOP and have a couple questions for those who got hired/have already started. Did anyone get placed 'part-time'? I was hoping for a full time position I wasn't sure if more hours become available as the unit needs it or after training? Also, does anyone know if orientation is paid or not?

How many hours are they offering you? CHOP just changed full-time from 40 to 36. Some of the paperwork might still not reflect this. Orientation is paid.

Hi Everybody!

I recently applied to the Nurse Resident Position and I have been in the New RN Talent Pool for about a month now after my video interview. I was just curious if anybody has any updates on hearing back for another interview? I'm sure the corona virus pandemic may slow some things down for us, but I figured its worth a shot to ask around.

My recruiter told me nurse resident programs are 48-72 hours biweekly and it depends on the needs of the unit and may increase as I work on the unit and the need arises. But on the offer I got from them, I'm listed as part time.

Right but that doesn't clarify how much hours they're actually giving you. I was told I was part-time when I was in fact full-time. PM me if you want to talk more about this.

So I applied on March 14th and just today got an invitation for video interview. IDK about unit interviews but it seems like they’re at least picking back up on the hiring process.

Has anyone heard anything new?

I just got off the phone with a recruiter, I was supposed to start next week but apparently the hospital is on a hiring freeze now just thought I'd let you guys know if you weren't aware.

I got a probably automated email from CHOP that said interviews for nurse resident positions will resume in "the near future". anyone have any more info?

I did not get that email!

They're on a hiring freeze so it makes sense. I was supposed to start in May already cleared and everything and now won't until mid July the earliest.
