CHLA Versant RN Residency September 2020 Cohort

Updated:   Published

Hi! I know the application for CHLA's RN Residency Program doesn't come out until March 2nd, 2020, but I just wanted to get a heads start!

I'm planning on applying for their NICCU and was curious if anyone knew what the prescreen interview would consist of?

Got the interview offer email for OR too! Super excited!

Did the HR person respond with a specific date and time yet?

Yes she sent me a time and date! And then said more details would follow in another email

For people who got offers, what was the hourly rate and shift diffs if you don’t mind sharing? I’ve been told that CHLA’s not the most competitive compared to other hospitals in the area

Hi! Has anyone had their ED interview yet?

Hi! Yes I had my interview today. It was a panel interview with the manager, two nurse educators, and two staff RN. Everyone was super nice!

ED applicants - I had my interview last week but I haven't heard anything back yet. Has anyone heard anything back yet?

Did anyone hear back after the OR interview?

I got an offer call and email for the OR on Friday! I asked them how many they were hiring and they said 3-4 people. Also for those asking the base pay is 37/hour with lots of differentials.

I was told 34 base but after 8 hours it’s time and a half so for a 12 hour shift it averages out to 39.66 if you do the math. Either way it’s not 37 for me but I’m almost positive everyone is paid the same!

I might be offered a higher amount because I’m currently working as an RN in outpatient surgery so I’ll have 6 months experience by the time we start in Jan
