Children's Medical Center Dallas

U.S.A. Texas

Hello All,

I am currently approaching my FINAL semester of nursing school!! Wohooo! I have a huge interest in working at Children's Dallas as an RN. I have a passion for trauma and am interested in finding out what it takes to get on at Children's. I am currently a Nurse Extern at THR and have over a year of experience. I have my BLS CPR, PEARS and ACLS certifications. I plan on obtaining my PALS before the end of the year. I will be graduating from an ADN program and bridging over to a BSN program immediately following graduation. I am looking for information on what the best way to get on at Children's is and any additional qualifications they may require. Also, anyone who does work there, do you love working there? Any information would be extremely helpful!! Thanks!!:D

I could be wrong, but I can't find anything on their site about being HCA.

I work at an HCA hospital and have several coworkers who've recently come from CMC and their MAJOR complaint is about us being a HCA facility and how much worse it is than Dallas because they weren't HCA.

Also, we are not a BSN required hospital for new grads at my HCA facility and I've not heard of that even being a possibility.

I get job postings sent to me from CMC because I really want to work there, and not a single posting has required a BSN. In fact they all list ADN or diploma nurse in the requirement section.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

You're correct. I did more research and discovered that Children's Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital, whereas all of the HCA facilities are for-profit.
Specializes in Critical Care; Cardiac; Professional Development.

I heard this week that they have posted their internships now.

How competitive is it to find work at Childrens?
