Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) RN Residency July 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello! I haven't seen a thread for the upcoming July 2022 cohort and wanted to create one. I just applied and I'm crossing my fingers for this one. Feel free to share any insights or any updates on the application process.

Good luck to everyone!

May 9, yes.  That’s what I gathered from another post.  Sounds like a great problem to have. Grats to all.  Maybe they will send more offers out on Friday, but ehhhh they probably hit everyone all at once by now and if anyone drops they will plug alternatives.  And if you didn’t get selected, just know what you’re bringing to the table and rock on.  It’s hardly in your job description to convince people of your potential or capability.  Let em read about you later on.  And, as much as possible, roll with aces up sleeves.  Corporate cuts their best assets by accident ALL THE TIME.  That’s how I see things a bit.  Healthcare has PLENTY of room for everyone to fit.  Trust. And God. If I got through what I did, still ready willing and able, then y’all are bout to do some cool stuff no doubt.  Blessings ? ?.

Thank you for your positivity and optimism. It’s appreciated. Good luck everyone!

Congrats!!

I applied for the PICU and it looks like they already sent out offer letters so I guess I didn’t get it. I’m pretty bummed, but happy that I got pretty far on my far on the first job I applied for. Does anyone have any advice for my job search going forward?

Don’t lose hope. You might be an alternate if someone declines the offer. Look into new grad programs like Cedars Sinai, CHOC, Miller children’s hospital, Huntington Hospital.

Apply for the November cohort.

I agree! Reapply if you still qualify for the November cohort. That will show them how committed and motivated you are. You know the questions they will ask you are probably similar. You have an advantage compared to other candidates going in there the first time. Reformulate your responses. Take them to the next level. Speak from the heart. Take some contract RN jobs while you are waiting. Good luck. I believe in you.

Hi, does anybody know if the first week of orientation is all self paced and virtual (or if there's an in-person component during week one)? I emailed the recruiter I was in contact with a few days ago and haven't heard back.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

Has anyone declined their offer? And/or has anyone heard any more updates today?

Specializes in SN.

Did anyone hear back from BMT, 4E, or 4W?
