Childrens Hospital of Colorado - Summer 2020 New Grad Residency

Hi there,

I applied today to Children's Hospital of Colorado's New Grad Residency Program. Just looking to get in touch with anyone else who is applying, planning to apply, etc. I thought it would be nice to get in touch with anyone going through the same process of applying/waiting to hear back/interviewing, etc.

Hi friends - just coming here with an update! I spoke with someone from talent acquisition at Children’s. They have frozen all hiring at this time, and it appears many hospitals in Colorado are following suit. That said they encouraged me to apply anyway (I already have) and to just keep checking the website. They’ll post updates as they come and recognize that the future of nursing is new grads so this program will resume in the coming future, after they’ve had time to focus on their current employees + everything going on with COVID.

Well, I just submitted my app! Took me forever to do the supplemental application LOL

Right?! Its so tedious. My husband was joking that the application submission is how they weed people because its so many steps LOL

Based on their website, I'm assuming hiring is still frozen. However, has anyone heard anything? Two other nurse residency programs I'm applying to just opened up their processes again, contingent on their hiring freeze ending by August/September. Wondering if Colorado will do the same.

I applied as well and still haven’t heard a thing! Getting sorta anxious, hoping despite the freeze they will still hire since it starts in August. Please anyone post any updates if you get them!! ?

Hi all! I emailed talent acquisition last week and they said they had begun reviewing candidates and that the Colorado Springs location will start notifying candidates for interviews in the next few weeks. Anschutz location is still evaluating their process and what they are going to do about hiring and will update the website with their plan soon. It appears they are still hiring for August cohort though!

I'm very glad this thread exists because I think I would be far more anxious if it didn't! I hope this information is helpful!!

If you go to the CHC Nurse Residency page on their website, there is a new statement about the residency program! It basically outlines everything you said.

Hi all! Just wanted to update. I just got a call for an interview with Children's Hospital in Colorado Springs! It is with the NICU and she said she was just starting to look at applications, I was her 2nd call so hopefully calls will be coming through for everyone soon!
