I know there is already a thread on this topic but I wanted to discuss from my perspective. I have wroked with psychiatrically ill childrenand adolescents most of my career and during covid I have no had one single patient refuse to wear mask. So the idea of mesk wearing causing increased anxiety is a non-starter for me. Children and to some extent adolescents will do what is modled by their parents. If parents don't wear a stink about wearing a mask the kids don't. As someone else noted masks are a fashion statement among the younger set.
