Children’s National New Graduate Nurse Residency (August/ September 2019)

Hi I’m a senior nursing student from Pitt graduating in April and I thought I would start this thread up for people applying to Registered Nurse I positions at Children’s National so we could all be in the know with what’s going on. So far I have applied to Beacon 7 and Hem-onc.

Yeah I was also offered an opportunity in peds and I took it, it’s just unfortunate that they took longer than the timeline they specified originally.

Well congratulations on the job!!! I'm glad we both found something in peds!! ? I withdrew my application online with Children's so i guess I will never know what decision they would have made. Where did you accept the position? I will be in the NICU at INOVA Fairfax. ?

Thank you so much it’s actually in the NICU at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland! Congratulations to you too, that’s awesome!

Out of curiosity has anyone heard back yet? I called the nurse manager I interviewed with and she said she can’t disclose any information cause talent acquisition handles that but then I called talent acquisition and they said that the nurse managers handle the decisions.

I emailed the HR person I spoke to to setup my interview and she said to check my application status but it just says interview completed. I also emailed both of the nurse managers I interviewed with and neither of them have replied.

Yeah my status never changed from “hiring manager interview to be scheduled” even after I did my interview.

It’s so weird they said they would let me know either way within 5-7 days ?
