Child Abuse

I was recently charged withmisdemeanor child abuse after disciplining my 5year son. This is my first offense and prior to this I had no criminal record. The police, detective and case worker have assured me the charges would be dismissed if I take a parenting class.My lawyer agrees and has handled many cases like this. My concern now is what about my nursing license? I would like to ask if anyone has dealt with these types of issues and what was the outcome?

    Contact your personal malpractice/liability carrier. This is likely reportable to the state BoN. Other wise consult a nursing license defense administrative law attorney. You can find one at the lawyer referral service on the American Association of a Nurse Attorneys: http://www.taana.org
