Chico State University Reviews

Published

Hi everyone.

I am planning on applying to Chico states' Nursing program for spring start. I just got my acceptance letter for the school itself, but have no yet applied to the program yet.

I just want to know about the school a little more. I wanted to see what everyone thinks about the city itself and the school, the good and the bad.

If you can just tell me your opinions about the academics, the staff, and faculty I would love to hear.

I would also appreciate what you think of the people and the city itself.

I have a tour scheduled for in a few weeks, but I really would like to hear what other people think too.

Thank you! :)

Is it the studio with wood floors and vaulted ceiling? I'm so jealous if it is. I texted about it and it was just taken.

No it's not. I don't think I ever saw that one. I would like to see what you're talking about now. Hahah.

But I just got a call back from the management company that is renting out the place. They called the owner and convinced them to hold the studio for me until January 1st, which they were hesistant to do at first because that meant losing a months rent. But the Manager persuaded them into it.

I mean because who knows if they don't rent to me they might lose more than just a months rent! Haha.

But the studio is right by the movie theaters and trader joes. It has a nice big yard for pets which i freaking love.

I'm so glad I found a place. The stress is over!!!! Now... Just to work and make money to pay first months rent since Financial aid wont be disbursed by the end of January. Haha.

I Do highly recommend for you to start looking and bookmarking places that sound interesting to you. I had a hell of a time finding a place and I looked for a couple of months. haha But who knows you might be lucky and get it easy.

Only thing left to do for me is wait and here back from the school. Can we like combine our powers to speed up their process? Haha

Yeah, I've been on craigslist almost every day. When I see something I like it's already rented when I ask about it. I've been checking property management sites too and same thing, I like something, then it's gone. I have a friend up there who works for Hignell so I am going to get in touch with here as soon as I know something.

I'm jealous you found something close to Trader Joes!

Sending my powers out in to the universe! Let's find out!!!

Oh I know what you mean. That happened to me a lot too.

I got really lucky though. Like I went to go see a one bedroom apartment on Sunday and on Monday I went over to the management property to fill out an application and half way through the application, I get a call from the current tenant telling me that she ended up having to stay for spring semester because she found out that she had one more class to take. And I went so I told the management property that I couldn't apply for that property anymore, but then... They showed me a studio that they actually had available. So i went to see it and liked it and now i just need to sign a lease for it.

Have you tried like taking to management properties to see if they have anything available? Sometimes they don't always list everything online.

Do you mind PMing me which property management company you went through? Maybe they know of something coming up. I actually just got an email from a new complex up there a few minutes ago, but I don't think they accept dogs. So frustrating.

Specializes in ICU, trauma.

Awwww man I remember the waiting game too, they waited until the 15th to tell me (the very last day possible!!). :/ Fortunately I did not have the issue of finding a place to stay because I transferred up a semester early, but I can also help anyone that wants recommendations or needs to know which areas are NOT good parts of town lol :)

The 15th is a Sunday for us, so hopefully it's the day before and not the day after :)

Did they send you an email Katie?

I looked at previous posts for spring admissions and most of them seem to be around Dec 9-11. Any later than that have been alternates I think

@Jennybewbs I'm thinking of moving in January so I can save up for the first months rent and the deposit.

I can't wait for this week to be over. Hopefully they tell us soon because I'm already getting anxious. Lol.

@Ab92, yeah... I had to borrow $800 from my sister just to make a deposit on my studio. And i'm still trying to work and make $270 because I have to make a pet deposit when i move up there. I already have enough for first months rent and part of my pet deposit.

I wish they worked weekends. Hahaha I'm going crazy. It's only a few days away but it feels like years.

Are we supposed to be getting an email through nursingcas or our regular email?
