I live in Chicago and graduated in May 09. I have yet to find a job. Several of my fellow graduates have had the same problem. And many who have found jobs are working in areas they do not like. I would look for a job before deciding to move. And don't be deceived by the many job postings on hospital websites. Many of those have been up for the last 6 months. Good luck with your decision and job hunt! It is tough out there!!!

It is tough here in Illinois..After searching for a job for long 6 months I have to move out of state for a job since I couldnt find anything here..Nevertheless ,good luck!~

thanks you all, that helps me get a better picture of what the market is looking like there.

I live in a rural part of IL about one hour west of Chicago. I know there isn't much available where I am. I work in a SNF. I'm not sure about Chicago. Good luck.

I've heard that most of the people who graduated last June are just now finding jobs. I still know some people who don't have jobs at all. It's really tough right now - a lot of places are flat out not hiring new grads. Good luck to you. I'd say if you can find a job there and get a year of experience, you will be so much better off if you want to move here later...

my friend graduated here in Miami in 09 and she got hired at Loyola Health System just this month. I would look into that
