Chemeketa Kaplan 2019

Hello, I am taking the Kaplan entrance exam tomorrow for Chemeketa Community College. I am super nervous. Has anyone taken it yet this year or last year that can offer advice? Thanks so much :)

Just got mine too. Alternate #7.. can anyone tell me when the deadline is for applicants to accept this year? Just wanting to get an idea of how long we would have to wait before we heard anything. Congratulations everyone!

What was your score out of 335? I'm alternate #19.

I think SO said the deadline to accept was May 24. There are a ton of deadlines for various steps though, and they make it super clear in the email that if you miss one, your spot goes to an alternate...so I'd say it could definitely still happen. :)

329/335. Can’t believe how competitive it was this year. What was your score? I wonder how many alternates they took.

That's crazy! It seems like a narrower spread than in the past years. The only thing that I can think of is that it's because they only had 40 spots instead of 48. :(

Yea what a load! I got 331/335. I just called and asked from their experience if there are usually alternatives and they said yes. I'm alternate #1, so hopefully a small miracle happens.

I don't think alternate #1 would take a miracle at all- a lot of people apply/ are accepted at multiple programs...there are bound to be people who accept somewhere else!

I got 327/335. It was definitely very competitive this year and with taking 40 students instead of 48, that makes a difference too. Congrats to all who got in!

Yeah, I got 327/335 points and got alternate #16. Not upset about that, I’m just glad I got put on an alternate list at all haha. Best of luck to all of you ?

I wonder how they pick, cause I had same points and got alternate #10! The worst part is waiting!!!

I’m so sorry, I was wondering about that too because I know they probably had a lot of duplicate scores and I think the only tie breaker at that point is drawing names from a hat. I wish there was a better way... I’ll let you know if I hear anything on my end. From past comments it seems like they’ve always taken at least ten alternates but of course I have no idea what this year will be like. Fingers crossed!

I thought I read that they take 20 applicants but it might be different this year because of less faculty.
