Chattanooga State Night Nursing Program Hopefuls 2017

Published

Who is anxious about the upcoming program application deadline? What are your points? Looking forward to meeting night program hopefuls!!!

Our program director said that there were over 400 applicants that applied for about 150 slots. I think the 150 slots she was talking about were for the day program. I think the night program has about 50 or so. Still haven't heard anything else yet. LPN school is brutal right now but the prospect of RN school makes it a little more bearable.

That's scary to think that over 400 people have applied. I wonder how many people applied to the night program?

Whenever everyone gets their letter, definitely post!! I have been checking my email like a mad woman!! The closer it gets, the more anxious I am!! Unfortunately, I am feeling very doubtful, seeing that my points are low due to lacking 5 prerequisites. :/

I went to Lowes today and bought a 5 gallon bucket of joint compound to skim coat my dining room, living room, and hall ceilings. That should keep me busy for a couple days at least. I also picked up material to sew my girls Easter dresses. If anyone is bored I can always find things to do... Even if it requires demoing a wall so I can see what's behind it. My husband is always afraid of what he'll come home to when he goes out of town. Ha.

I started planting a garden today. So maybe that will give me something else to think about.

I saw a posting today that says "The Nursing Admissions department will begin sending letters April 10, 2017 after the committee has made final selections."

I'm curious where exactly you saw that post? Was it online or at campus somewhere?

I checked the chatt state nursing website and I didn't see that post.

I am going crazy needing to know! lol I have been sick this past week so I've pretty much slept to pass time. I am going to turn one of my spare rooms into a study area and I have just been watching a ton of youtube videos of nursing students to see what I will hopefully be getting into. I will post as soon as I know. I check my email constantly too

Any good YouTube channels? I'm thinking of watching some Kahn Academy ones that pertain. I bought a fundamentals of nursing book at McKays for $2 and been reading that some as well.

I've been watching some channels that I saw another poster on here say she watched while waiting to be accepted last year. Nurse Bass is one of my favorites and Nursemurse, Ashley Adkins, RN. They just give advice for nursing school and like what to expect, study tips, insight to what clinicals will be like. I also downloaded a few apps one called resuscitation (I have no clue what I'm doing, but its fun lol) and I have a Nclex mastery app that I just sample questions on just to get a feel for what type of questions we will have.

I found a book, it's called test success. And it's specifically for nursing school. It teaches you how to study and how to read the questions for test, and choosing the most correct answer. If I get in I am going to buy it and read it over the summer. It got great reviews on amazon.
