Chattahoochee Tech LPN Spring 2019

Published

I wanted to start a new post for LPN hopefuls for Spring 2019 at Chattahoochee Tech. I was wondering if anyone has already attended and applied at the application session.

I am nervous about getting in. My grades are good, but I scored a 63 on the TEAs test. I am retaking it again for a better score. I hope I have a chance to get in the program.

Oh okay. I was just making sure. I've done research on the books and altogether it comes to about ~$488. I know Dosage Calculations is a biggie. So brush up on your math skills.

I received an email from the program director listing our first five classes! There is other information listed in the email as well. Exciting!!

Very exciting! Should we start a Groupme?

That sounds like a great idea!

Hello Im looking to apply for this Fall and came across this thread. I made a 79.3 on the TEAS but I believe that I will end my APII Lecture with a C. Applying to LPN was last min so i was unable to take the Pharm. class for extra.

Same here aashely... I just moved to Atlanta... I transferred all my classes except college algebra and med term. I wasnt aware of the pharm class until the semester was almost over. Took the teas and got a 74... so right now... my fingers are crossed. Those Pharm points would have really helped me

When do actual classes start for LPN at CTC? I know this year has passed, but I've started weighing LPN vs RN. Everything I've been working towards and planning have been for the RN program, but the LPN allows me to graduate sooner, work sooner, and then work on the RN (and possibly even get tuition reimbursement).

It's never an easy decision since the LPN comes first in the year. I can't really use it as a "back-up" plan unless I wait until 2021.

LPN classes start in January of 2020.

Is anyone here in the fall 2019 cohort?

Hi, all! I wanted to introduce myself and join in on the conversation. I am a single mom of 3 children and have dreamed of becoming a nurse for a long time, but took some major detours lol. I applied to the RN and LPN programs at Chatt Tech. I got rejected from both, but then last week, I got a call that someone declined their seat in the LPN program, and I now have a seat! I am so excited to begin this journey. I was in Nursing school briefly years ago at Chamberlain, but it was way too expensive and I have to pay out-of-pocket because I already have a Bachelor's degree and used the HOPE scholarship. It was also accelerated due to me having a degree, and I just couldn't do it at the time. I literally had to quit my job to be able to take the optional Pharmacology pre-requisite for the LPN program (because it was only offered in the middle of the day on Mondays and my boss wouldn't work with me since I am the only Medical Assistant). Anyways, I became a float and have gained so much experience since January of this year. I just wanted to share a piece of my story to hopefully give hope to you all. I am not a super religious person, but I have to say that some Higher Power must be looking out for me and my babies. Maybe we can get out of my mother and step-father's house at some point before they are teenagers (which isn't that far away ?). My ultimate goal is to get my BSN, then become a Midwife. I have a long way to go, but could literally not be anymore excited to at least get my foot in the Nursing field! I was wondering if anyone plans on working throughout this program (some nights/weekends)? My mom is opposed to it and wants me to study and spend time with my kids when I am not in class/clinicals, but MONEY! I am looking for a transfer with my job, but have not had luck yet and I am kind of freaking out (Medical insurance/again, money). ? I apologize for the long post, but I hope I gave at least 1 person a good read and some hope and faith!
