I will be graduating in May of this year with a BSN, and I've heard that it's difficult as a new grad to get a job in Charlotte, NC. I'm from out of state so I feel that this already puts me at a disadvantage because I have no connections to any of the hospitals/schools there. I see that CMC and Novant both have new grad programs but is it really as hard as everyone is saying to be hired as a new nurse? Help!!

I graduated in Atlanta in November and got my license here in December 22. I felt the same way. I got 4 interviews and 2 job offers within 3 weeks of applying. Neither one was cmc or novant. There is piedmont in rock hill, wake forest, Lexington medical, frye regional, Randolph , kindred, Stanley...it just depends where you are willing to work and how far you want to drive. My commute will be 30 mins at the job I accepted. I also contacted cmc and the HR lady will take your info and connect you where they see fit because the new grad program is/was closed.
