Hey all! I am applying to Charity School of Nursing Delgado this summer for the Spring 2019 classes. I wanted to start this thread for some support and to help keep each other updated. I just checked Delgado's website for Charity's application deadlines. It's saying applications for Spring are July 1st - July 15th.. is this incorrect?! Everything I've read in the past has August 1-15 as applications ...I am taking classes over the summer to help apply to Charity, they will not be completed by July 1st!! This doesn't seem right.
Yes. I spoke with the Charity School of Nursing (pre nursing advisor).. I called her and asked if they will consider our summer courses for our application on July 1st. She stated "No, you must have a grade already for us to consider it and use it on your profile score sheet" the profile score sheet is what they use to determine if you get accepted into the program.
Oh wow that is very odd. Sounds like they are very disorganized if the Assistant dean is saying one thing, and the advisor is saying something else. Not sure who to believe! In any event, think it's unprofessional and not at all fair to change the dates of the apps after the spring semester started. I.e.:registered for our spring classes with the knowledge we could take summer classes. Then they change the date? Something like that should get grandfathered in. Or have a year's notice.
Hey everyone I recently saw this thread for Charity School of Nursing and have been doing some research on the technical parts for applying this summer to start in Spring 2019. How does Charity go about with how they accept people into their nursing program? Do they specifically use the profile score when it comes to choosing who gets in and who does not. And if one was to not get accepted into the program for a low profile score due to lets say "has made a D in the past 5 years" or "has a W on record in the last five years" would those same penalties still go against you if you were to apply the next semester, like would you possibly be able to get those profile score points that you missed out on if you were to not get accepted but apply again another semester. Simply asking because I made some mistakes about 2 years ago when I first started college and have gotten back on the right track with grades wise for the CSN curriculum but am afraid I might not get accepted simply because of grades Ive made when I did not think much of college. Any feedback would be great!!!!!!
Hello. I was wondering if any has taken Math 128 at Delgado Community College and has a copy of their syllabus? My husband is in the military and was stationed here a year ago, I recently moved to Louisiana to be with him. I have taken the HESI A2 exam and passed. I have also emailed Denette, Cosper, and Bennett regarding my courses and whether my credits were transferable. They replied right away but I am still waiting to get a reply from the math department. I just wanted to compare my syllabus so that I know whether or not I should register for summer school and take Math 128. I just do not want to wait any longer to apply. We only have two more years in Louisiana before we get stationed somewhere else.
Oh wow I took the HESI today too! It was a little more difficult than I anticipated, but I wouldn't say hard. It's been a very long time since I've taken Biology. And I just finished A&P this last semester and made A's in both lecture/lab. I still found those sections stumped me on a few questions. Anyways, I made a 91.33 and I'm happy with that. Good luck!

Vstokes, I talked to the Assistant Dean at Charity. I had first talked to the advisor at Delgado's main campus, and she could not give me a straight answer. The Assistant Dean at Charity told me they are going to consider our courses from the summer. No one gave me a straight answer about profile scores, but she did say they changed the dates last minute and this will be the LAST summer they take our summer classes. So if you haven't spoken to someone from Charity, I would call them. Maybe if enough of us complain, they will do something about it.
