Hello everyone, I know the application date is not till August but I am already nervous and stressed about getting accepted to CSN for spring 2017. Anyone else applying this August?
Don't be discouraged!! Try and see if there are more test dates available. I am taking it on July 21st and just went and registered yesterday for the August 3 date so I have a second shot in case I don't get the score I want the first time. I know between the city park campus, West Bank campus, and Sydney collier campus there are a bunch of test dates before the deadline on the 15th of August so give them a call! I also heard Prometric offers the HESI in metarie.
I studied from the Hesi admission Assessment Exam Review book. Honestly they had nothing on the hesi test from the book. I took multiple practice test online as well and dont recall seeing any of those questions. Hesi is basically a test you cant really study for in my opinion, you never know whats going to be on it. The math is basically fractions and word problems so that was easy. The Reading comprehension is easy as well. Focus mostly on biology, A & P, and vocab.
Hey guys, update:
I took the HESI today, It took me a total of about 3 hours to complete and I got an 86. Surprisingly, I did bad in the grammar one because I kind of dosed off after the reading. I recommend doing Reading last! it is so energy draining!
but now my profile score stands at a 75 for when I apply.
Yes, I have not done A&P 2 yet, but I did not prepare at all besides from my A&P 1 lecture lol.
BUT, biology questions were simple, like " Why does the Mitochondria get termed being the powerhouse of the cell" or "what is the result of Meosis" or " What is required for Aerobic respiration to occur" It was not anything crazy.
The A&P part had some questions about synovial joints and what kind of joint is the shoulder joint, the hip joint, and what were sebaceous glands..It was not anything crazy.
Some people recommended doing the Hesi admission assessment for studying and they say it worked well. Make sure also to review vocab out of that book because there was tons of vocab everywhere.
Don't even stress about math. know how to convert mixed numbers to fractions and to decimals. Know conversions like Kilo to Mili or Liters to mL. there was one where it required me to know cups to Ounces, but I guessed. I did not know.
But very easy nonetheless. There was LOTS of proportions and adding/subtracting/diving of fractions.

Unfortunately that's the only date they have space available in. I will be leaving straight from there to go bring my application to charity. I would have liked to take it twice!
