How long does it take a Nurse to change a lightbulb?

Only 1 minute, but then it takes her 45 minutes to document it.

And then there's the potential risk of using a chair or ladder to reach the lightbulb in the first place. You won't be covered by you're insurance if you were to fall off the ladder and injure yourself at work. Better be safe and just fill out a requisition and have engineering change the damn thing!

Once was told by medical equipment salesman that the word around the medical equipment industry was that if you gave a nurse 3 steel balls she/he would lose on break one and tape the other one up! My reply to this smartypants - If a nurse is given three steel balls she will be expected to ensure ihey last at least 12 years past use-by date by which time one will have been lost irretrievably in the system, one would have been bronken beyond mending by a doctor and we would be desperately trying to make the last one go on as long as possible!

Don't forget to ask first if there is a student nurse or new grad that needs experience in changing lightbulbs.

No, no, no...it takes FOUR nurses to change a lightbulb. Three to ***** about it and one to tell the unit clerk to call maintenance.

How many doctors does it take to change a lightbulb? Only one, but it takes a long time for the earth to revolve around him.

How many psychiatrists? Only one, but the lightbulb really has to want to change.

Now yall all know you had to do an incident report on the failure of the lightbulb, present that to your supervisor , who then sent it to QA, then it went to the board to figure which wire caused the bulb to not fuction correctly. Then once you get that cleared at least a month or so , the new bulb is sent but then has to go to biomed to be cleared and tagged and then shipped internally thru the systems, to be placed on a work order , so someone from maintance can come up with a ladder and hazzard signs and block off the hall that the bulb is needed in , but its not the right size so you have to do an icident report on why it isnt the right size , send that to you supervisor, do a QA report, wait again for it to go infront of the board, (another month) and then request the same bulb,(which has been lost by now), to be placed in the socket that the bulb is burnt out on...
