I have just received a green card through employment, but after entering the states and received my SSN card i was told by my recruiter that the place i was suppose to work at has reached full capacity and they are trying to transfer me to another place but it doesn't seem like it's going to be available soon...what do I do then? Am i allowed to seek a different employer? Because i can't be in the US jobless and just live off my savings....thank you

Have you asked an immigration lawyer?
not yet...i thought to give it another week or so and then contact them...i was wondering if anyone here is a bit more educated about this kind of situation

"A bit more educated about this kind of situation" than an immigration lawyer?? I wouldn't make any important employment or immigration decisions based on advice from anonymous strangers on an Internet site.
What if your recruiter is committing employment fraud? I think you should contact an immigration lawyer soon not wait a week or so.
i find it hard to believe since they are the ones who paid for everything...but thanks though

Hi,
I am in the same boat. My recruiter could not give me any job now because I don't have US experience.I don't know how long they want me to wait. I am searching for the same answer too.

You entered the US with a green card, have a SSN and your employment offer was revoked as well? and you both trust your recruiters?
