Chances of being hired in ICU

Published

Hello. This is my first post here.

What are my chances of being hired in the ICU in the US?

I am an immigrant nurse from the Philippines with 9+ years of working as an RN. I worked 3 years in the ICU (served as 1 year being Charge RN) back home however upon coming to the US, I was hired in a PCU/Telemetry floor of a critical access hospital.

Me and my family are moving to NJ after my work contract here (in VT) and I am hoping I'll be able to go back to my ICU roots.

What are my chances of being hired back in the ICU? I'm BSN, BLS/ACLS trained, but do have a work gap of 1 year where I stayed away from bedside nursing to do Telehealth triage RN (during COVID).

I appreciate if someone will share their 2 cents on my post. Thanks!

With that resume, I can't imagine you'd have an ounce of trouble getting any ICU job you want.
