Chancellor's LPN to RN study guides

Does anyone have any Chancellor's study guides that they would like to sell? Has anyone used Chancellor's and found that they also needed to purchase additional booksfor study? Chancellors claims that all you need are their expensive study guides to pass all the tests and then enroll at Excelsior for the degree. I just can't afford their study guides.

I have study guides but you do not specifically need Chancellors to pass the exams. A good nursing textbook for another college textbook with the needed info and an adventursome attitude is all you need to pass. A little experience will also help you in the nursing field

I used Chancellor's for NC5 which I now have on sale at Ebay. I liked the study guide, but they do have a little bit of useless info, but it's easy to pick out and glance over. I passed with just that study guide. I've also used the books and content guide from Excelsior for other tests, but I found it took a lot longer just looking up the info. I've also purchased notes on Ebay for about $10 and really liked study from them.

Don't know how far you are into the Chancellor program, but I had gotten several different LPN to Assoc Degree brochures here and I contacted our State Board and their advice to me was by pass these places completly, and go directly to Excelsior and deal with them, and I called them and they told me I could do what I wanted but there was no sense in wasting my money with those other places, as they would make sure that each student has what they need to pass the tests at the local testing centers, it comes in the course content. That is what I am going to do, if any one else has any other info on the subject I would be glad to have it also as I have not yet signed up with anyone. Can't afford to quit working to go to school, but want to become an RN, as I am a little older and want to work longer, and have been advised that I could teach, do MDS's and other kinds of work as an RN that aren't quite a physical as working the floor in LTC, which is what I do now and love, but I have to be realistic, diabetes, arthritis, HTN, asthma and just simply getting older won't allow me to continue the hard stuff for as long as I want to work.:p

I would go with what offers you what you need, is accredited. and what you are comfortable with..I am in the ISU program for LPN to BSN...I just had far too much college work not too..I also could not quit work and I am over 40 years old. I do like to work at my own pace and find that at times regular college classes go too slowly and I end up bored. I am well satisified with what I am doing at present. Good luck to you....

Finally passed all my Excelsior Theory exams. I used Chancellor's program. I am selling Nursing concepts 3,4,5,6 and Foundations of professional practice. I also have Nsg concepts 2's Tapes, but no book( I think I lent to someone, and I never got it back)

Hi I actually have several study guides for sale. A&P, Nursing concept 1,3,4,5,6. Chancellor's charges $295 per study guide, I will sell mine, which are in mint condition, no marks inside or out, for $175.00/each. I did not require any additional book for study.The guides are good, they really do prepare you well for your exams.

How can you learn anything just by doing a workbook and not doing reading from a text book? This is a respectable profession and we should be learning how to be good nurses not just how to pass an exam...I'm not trying to sound harsh, I'm just trying to understand the rationale behind becoming qualified RN's without actually learning the materials..I used the RUE system and glad I did..They give you wonderful textbooks..and great workbooks and huge support online and on phone..

I am working on degree now using Excellsior.My work so far has supplied study stuff all but what I optionally bought, used,. on-line @ Amazon.You don't enroll @ Excelsior till you get to the actual nursing courses. Take the pre-requisites first. My advisor typed me up a list/program that I am following that says in order what to take.That's what you should do.If you don't have education advisor, contact Excelsior for advise.I have 2 kids, 1 a special needs child, married, work full-time with some OT, church, sick parents I help with,big house to clean,long commute - I'm doing it!I'm on 4th course.If you go slow, you can afford to pay as you go, or I am.
