Chamberlain School of nursing

U.S.A. Arizona

Is anyone considering this school for the BSN program? Has anyone been to their orientation/tour? I am just curious as I heard about it a few weeks ago. Not sure I'd be interested but still want some info.

The odds of all four of them passing is still pretty good...I'm not understanding if you are discounting that. The fact that they ALL made it through a new program where there are others failing is pretty darn amazing! Oh and the next class has more like 25-30. :)

Thanks for the great info everyone! I work full-time. Do you know if the program can be completed through evening, weekend, and/or online?

If you do not already have your RN license and not doing the RN-BSN route, then I will tell you that it will be near to impossible to work full time while attending nursing school. Chamberlain, in particular, is an accelerated program. For example, right now, my next test being in about two weeks, covers eleven chapters that must be read and understood. (We only get two weeks to read and understand that many chapters.) I have a couple of classmates that still work, but only part time and they work on the weekends usually. Classes are usually during the early part of the day and you are on campus about two to three days a week and clinicals starting at twice per week (8 hour days). Once you get into Maternity/Peds, then clinicals turn to once a week for 12 hours. Clinicals also stay like that for pretty much the rest of the program. With nursing school, it must become number 1 in your life or it will be difficult. I wish you luck in your decisions!

Hi, Do you know how long the program is if you have all your pre-reqs completed?

Due to the fact that each nursing class is a prerequisite for the next nursing class, you will still start in the third block of the first year. So, basically, you will have a little over two years of nursing school. THe good thing is that you will only have to focus on nursing material (instead of having to take extra classes to get those pre-reqs done), but the bad news is that you won't be considered a full time student, thus possibly affecting your financial aid somewhat. Each nursing class is about 5 credits, per session, which means you will usually hold about 10 credits each semester, 2 less then the full time requirement. So, that is something you need to take into consideration. I wish you luck in your decisions.

I'm defnitely not discounting the 4 students that did pass. I am extremely proud of them! I just wanted to clarify that the first graduating class is not of a typical sized class, for others to know. This next graduating class will give all of us a better outlook on how good Chamberlain is for a nursing program. Me, personallym, I absolutely love Chamberlain College of Nursing! I am extremely happy with my choice! I just hope that they soon develop more choices for the Master's program (probably not before I graduate, though) besides educator and executive tracks.

Because you can only take one nursing/clinical class at a time it will take you 2 years. You'll just have more time to focus on the nursing classes instead of having the pre-reqs to worry about. Make sure that you still qualify for financial aid since that would put you part time for most if not all of the semesters because this school is not cheap. :)

Thank you MystyqueOne & Ready2Help. So much to think about. *sigh*

mystyqueone - so you are attending chamberlain right now in arlington? i am currently in a nursing program in falls church at stratford university. i am very unhappy with the education i am getting there so i am desperate to transfer somewhere. i went to visit chamberlain and i really liked how organized and informative they seemed - refreshing to see that considering what stratford is like. anyhow - i am mostly worried about the quality of education. stratford has been a huge dissapointment and i don't want to make the same mistake. anything you can tell me about the school would be great!
