This situation could affect their financial viability going forward and that could affect you.

The for-profit post secondary education industry, as they like to refer to themselves, is slowly contracting as fewer and fewer students for a variety of legitimate reasons are choosing other more affordable options. They are definitely there. One of them is Western Governor's University (WGU). If you look at (collegescorecard.ed.gov) you can see their relatively reasonable rates and other stats. This option, of course, is always your decision.

Ultimately, my hope for you is that you get a quality education but at a reasonable cost.

That's the only way that as a person with an AD you can realize a gainful return for the time and treasure it will take to obtain the BSN.

Just be aware that this settlement relates to employment data of students who attended DVU (not Chamberlain) between the years of 1975 to 1983. There has been no indication that the education at Chamberlain (which was a separate educational institution) is subpar or substandard. They can no longer state employment rates since 1975 in advertising. It's important to realize the context of the DOE decision. The question was how the statistical data were gathered, not that anything was fraudulent.

How do you feel about the 3.0 GPA model of WGU? I have been speaking with admissions reps there, at GCU, and at Chamberlain about their respective RN to BSN/MSN bridge programs. Th cost at WGU is definitely appealing.
