Chamberlain online RN to BSN review

I am currently looking into Transferring over to Chamberlain online RN to BSN program and would love to get some feedback! I'm currently enrolled in Sacred Heart University online RN to BSN program but according to my plan of study I'll be taking 4 more classes than Chamberlain. I know it is more expensive but I wonder if it's worth it considering I'll be taking 4 less classes. Is chamberlain difficult? Alot of papers? How about the Capstone? I know Chamberlain does not require clinical time but Sacred Heart does. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you

Hello, would y'all know if chamberlain accepts RNs in the RN to BSN program who got their degree from a non accredited nursing program?

As an admission requirement, Chamberlain requires a "nursing diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing from an institution recognized by the Department of Education" RN to BSN Online Program, Earn Your BSN Online | Chamberlain College

Sorry!

I remember seeing in one of your precious posts before you started at CCN that you were a new grad with no experience. That is exactly my situation (licensed yesterday, starting in the MSICU June 19th). Did you feel that your lack of experience was a disadvantage? Was it hard to orient to the working world while trying to keep up in the bridge program? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

First off, congrats on your new job. I definitely think the program is doable for working nurses. I only had to do the nursing courses, since I completed the pre-reqs already when I did my first bachelor's degree. I started the bridge program taking 2 classes and I didn't find the amount of work to be overwhelming. I tried to balance my time every week where I intentionally carved out a few hours to work on school work. I was also doing a New grad residency as well as planning a wedding, so time management was a must! My first year of nursing flew by since I had a lot going on. I didn't find my lack of experience at the time to be hindrance for the bridge program. As I progressed through the program, I was getting more RN experience which I was able to pull from for the discussion posts, papers, etc.

Hi guys! I just finished my first course with Cc and it was really manageable so far so good. I will be taking assessment and motivation and leadership (psyc 305) next week does anyone have any tips or can you enlighten me a little on the workload at least for psyc since it's through devry? I work full time and have 2 kids just want to see if I'll be able to manage 2 courses at the same time. Thank you in advance!

3 more subjects and I will transfer to the NP program.

I'm in my 4th class right now at Sacred Heart. I need a total of 17 classes so 13 more to go. As for Chamberlain They said I would have a total of 10 classes to take 7 nursing classes and 3 general. So I'm not sure if it's worth it to switch over to Chamberlain to have 3 classes less. And chamberlain has Capstone with no clinical. Sacred heart has clinical. Not sure what to do.

I'm a night shift nurse also 7p-7a and have a 6 year old. I actually never thought about that with the clinical and working nights! I'm highly considering switching over! Thank you I appreciate it!

GoodtimeRN,ADN

Thank you for all the information!! Sounds like it is definitely worth switching over!! I also work full time and have a 6 year old so I was skeptical about taking 2 classes at once but hearing that you work full time and have a baby I think I can manage it also. Thank you!

I switched over from UT Arlington to Chamberlain and so far I LOVE IT!!! It's so much less work than Arlington. I'm currently in the algebra class and nurse 351, I have 98% in both classes. Did I mention I work full time and have a 4 month old baby? The classes are 8 weeks each. The harder course, economics, they recently changed and you don't have to take it! You only need to complete 30 credits at Chamberlain. I needed 31! Just made it. I have 9 classes and I'll be done Dec. 18. Best decision I ever made! More expensive but way easier than UTA and so far I like it a lot better. My sister only has 4 classes left and she said it's minimal papers (she claims she hasn't written any). In Nurs 351 you have to write a short paper (500-600 words! it's like a page and a half) and they GIVE YOU the article to use and a template that you literally type your paper onto. I'd highly suggest switching over. I LOVE IT!

You are so lucky you don't have to take Econ. I have a 4.0 GPA so far at Chamberlain and Econ has been a struggle to maintain an A. Taking my final in a few days and I'm hoping I can keep the 4.0 going. It's such a tough course!

I am in the same boat as you are and will be done in October. What classes are you taking starting in May???

I will be starting the Nurse Transitions class at Chamberlain. Are you doing Chamberlain also?

Has anyone gone on vacation in these programs? I have a 1 week trip to Iceland possibly. Is it doable?

I think I did, but that was like 15 years ago, LOL. But I taught in this program as well, and I had students who went on vacation. I would recommend reaching out to your professor, but I am pretty sure the policy remains that assignments and posts can only be submitted for full credit the actual week that they are due. I would just work ahead and have whatever is due that week prepped and ready to post or submit prior to your vacation, then submit it as soon as possible for the week - I am sure you will have internet available in Iceland at some point. I think one week is totally doable. Good luck!
