Is anyone enrolled in the online FNP program at Chamberlain? I am interested in hearing anyone's experiences with the program. Thanks.

hey does anyone know why certain states are not allowed to apply for the program? i was excited to find out that chamberlain finally offers an online FNP program - only to see my state listed as one that is not accepting students.

It probably has to do with financial aid, but you should confirm that for yourself with the school.

some state BONs have to approve the program since its new & there is no official national standard for online FNP programs; ive bugged the online advisors & they have know idea, except that youd have to call your state BON to see why/why not theyv approved CCN FNP program. To date, 18 have not approved (yet). But ive checked monthly & it used to be 21. So some states are slowly approving.

Do they require letters of recommendation, a statement or purpose or other similar items other schools ask for?

I wish they do admit NY residents. I also wish online FNP schools help students find preceptors.

Hello BeeGeeRN,

I just applied with Chamberlain and will hopefully start in Jan. 2014. Have you started with the program yet? If yes, could you share with us how the classes are structured? Are there a ton of written assignments and quizzes or is it just participation in the discussion boards?

Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance and congrats on your acceptance and best of luck to you!

I start in March I can't wait any advice?

I am completing my BSN with CCN, done in March. I have been so happy with their program that I have decided to complete my MSN-FNP with them and will be starting that in May. The advisors are always so helpful. They take care of my application, my financial aid, and enrolling me in classes. If you already have your BSN the MSN will take as little as 2.5 years. You have to find your own clinical placement but that helps you to learn how to "network". I am really happy with CCN. It has been a good program so far.

I also am hoping to start March 3,2014. I found that my current employer has an affiliation with this school and offers a discount! I'm hoping to talk to a financial person the beginning of next week and get started. It's my understanding that the FNP program is newer, anyone know if they have had a class graduate yet? Also how can it be accredited if it hasn't had a class graduate? That is my only concern is with accreditation...it says ccne, so it will be ok right? Also anyone currently in the fnp program? What are your thoughts? Thanks to anyone who replies!! And good luck to all!

Hi everyone, I just got accepted in the FNP program and will be starting in May...however there is a small possibility i can start on monday (march 3rd) IF my VA loan is done being processed by march 5th. My question is, if I do get the financial approval to begin March term I will be starting a couple of days after the start date..so how demanding is the first course (NUR500) and would it be difficult for me to catch up quickly?

Nur500 is a piece of cake :) ended up with 98.5%.
