Anyone starting the FNP program with Chamberlain in Jan of 2018? I would love to connect with other students and share tips/information.
Hello Everyone! I am currently in the RN to BSN to FNP program with Chamberlain and was hoping to connect with current students already in the MSN-FNP portion. How's the experience in the classes so far? Have you been able to find practicum sites yet? When trying to connect with Chamberlain Alumni, the school does not help with this part. unfortunately, when trying to add the Facebook Group for the MSN-FNP I was denied. So my main source of information has been allnurses. I would appreciate connecting with other students! Thanks
Hi Everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your Chamberlain experience. I started the FNP program August 2016 and will graduate December 2018. I am in second practicum classes now and only have 3 classes left. it is true that Chamberlain made a lot of changes to the program but they are to help with passing boards. If anyone has any questions as all feel free to ask......Good Luck!!!
Thank you for your comments. I am in the FNP program at Chamberlain. I was supposed to take epidemiology next semester but I just failed NR505 Advanced EBP passing is a 76 and I received a 75.9. The professor for this course was very difficult. I even emailed her several times throughout the course to clarify my questions. I did my best and I still failed the course. There were many points taken off the last few assignments and I failed the course. When attending Chamberlain for my BSN I took 2 classes each session and 3 classes in my last session and I did very well. In the other 5 MSN core classes I did well. I am supposed to repeat the course but I am very depressed now. My request to review my grade was denied very quickly.

There is a lot you can do to not give points away. ALWAYS follow the rubrics for every assignment and discussion thread. Meet the deadlines for the initial response post and be active in the discussions on enough days. Use scholarly sources that are within the last 5 years. Do you have the APA manual? A lot of people rely on PERRLA and templates, but actually having the APA manual is more helpful. I teach in the RNBSN program, and that is where my students lose the most points. Plus things like advanced EBP and theory courses tend to be a little more difficult if you don't find that sort of thing interesting!
Did you use tools like Grammarly, or did you submit your papers to tutor.com? Tutor.com will actually provide you with a person who reviews your paper and provides suggestions. There are a lot of aids available!
Just be sure when you repeat the course, you don't self-plagiarize. They will provide you with guidelines for reusing assignments. I have seen good students get in trouble with this! Best of luck, I am sure you will be successful.

Hello and thank you for your input. Yes I have an APA for book. I also used began using Grammly once I started getting so many points taken off of my assignments. In addition, I began using PERRLA, but I hated it. I have never had any issues with APA Formatting in any of my courses at Chamberlain until this course. I have up to date taken 11 undergraduate courses and 5 graduate courses.
Thanks for your comment

Some of the professors in the graduate programs have crazy high standards for APA. I started the DNP program and learned even more about APA in the first course. Lol. And I completed the RN-to-BSN and an MSN at Chamberlain already! Amazing.
